Voters’ enrollment, names verification drive today
- Collector asks youth who have crossed 18 years of age to enroll their names in voters list set up at 3,968 polling stations in the district
Vijayawada: Collector Md Imtiaz on Saturday called upon people to visit 3,968 polling stations set up in the district on Sunday for verification of their names and enrollment of new voters, who have crossed 18 years of age.
Inspected polling stations in Vijayawada Central, Vijayawada East segments in the city and Penamaluru, Pamarru and Kankipadu mandals, he said the Election Commission has made all arrangements in the 3,968 polling stations for the enrollment of voters on Sunday.
He instructed the booth level officers to attend the duty at the station without fail and help the applicants in the enrollment of their names.
He said Form 6, Form 7, Form 8 and Form 8A were available at the polling stations and asked the election officials to inform the people's representatives and the parties on conducting the special campaign on Sunday.
He visited the Bishop Azaraiah school, Patamata ZP high school in Vijayawada and ZP schools in Eedupugallu, Pamarru and Penamaluru on Saturday.
He interacted with the Class X students of ZP high school in Manikonda village during his visit and asked them to set goal and work hard to reach their objective.
He asked them to get 10 points in the SSC public examination to be held in March.
