Women’s Group Art Expo launched in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: Chitramukhi, Women Artists group show was organised by Chitram Arts in association with Andhra Pradesh Creativity & Cultural Commission and Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati, was launched by Krishna district ZP chairperson Gadde Anuradha here on Saturday.
She said the art works mirror the ideas of the women. KGV Saritha, Additional Superintendent of Police (Women Protection Cell) was the guest of honour. She said that the dormant skills of women are reflected in art and their voices are heard in the artworks.
The expo, curated by Chitram Sudheer, showcases about 100 artworks reflecting various women-related themes depicted on canvas.
Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, CEO, Cultural Centre said that Vijayawada is yet to get a place for women artists on national art arena and such art shows would definitely promote the upcoming women artists to pursue the profession and exhibit their talent.
Golla Narayana Rao, secretary, Andhra Arts Academy, Allu Rambabu, Damayanthi Gollapudi, K Gandhi, Muralaikrishna, Giridhar, Mallik and Madhavi Koppala participated in the event.
