No specific security alert received at port: Collector Kartikeya Mishra
Kakinada: State ports director in-charge and District Collector Kartikeya Mishra said that the officials are in touch with Navy and Indian Coast Guard on security aspect.
The security aspect attains significance in the wake of Indian Air Force operation on terrorist hide outs in its predawn operation on Tuesday. The AP state has 978 kms of sea coast from Srikakulam to Nellore district with 9 minor ports with port directorate head quarters at Kakinada.
As of now, no specific security alert received said Kartikeya Mishra. The collector also said that the cargo handling at Kakinada port is being carried as usual. Mean while Kakinada Port officer Captain Dharma Sasta said that they are on the alert for the past three days as per the directive of higher-ups.
