Builders Association of India urges Chandrababu Naidu to bring down cement prices
Vijayawada: The members of the Builders Association of India (BAI) met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh at their residence in Undavalli on Thursday and submitted a memorandum requesting them to solve their problems due to increase in building material cost.
BAI Chairman A Nagamalleswara Rao said that they were facing problems due to sudden increase in cement price. He requested them to intervene in rolling back the prices.
He further said that a request was made to fix 5 per cent registration charges for 90 sqft carpet area construction, development agreement cost should be a minimum of 0.5 per cent or Rs 50,000.
A request was also made to allocate some land at Amaravati to build apartments for middle-class and lower-middle-class families, he said and added to give exemption of 14 per cent non-layout charges at developed places. BIA national vice-president B Raghava Rao, secretary T Vamsikrishna, vice-chairman A Sambasiva Rao and others were present.
