Rs 15 crore jackpot for ‘Jaisimha’
Even before the release of the film, producer C Kalyan should be laughing all the way to the bank, thanks to Hindi dubbing and Telugu satellite rights which reportedly fetched him a whopping Rs 15 crore by a leading channel, covering almost a good part of his Rs 30 crore investment in the big ticket entertainer.
“Hindi channels love to procure Telugu action films and don’t mind paying a bomb. Along with Telugu satellite rights, it has been sold for one of the highest prices in Balakrishna’s career,” says a Hindi film distributor. Despite Balakrishna’s last film ‘Paisa Vasool’ bombing at the box-office, his next release ‘Jaisimha’ got enough pre-release hype and director K S Ravikumar’s brand as a star filmmaker, seems to have been a value addition.
Meanwhile, speaking at the pre-release event, director K S Ravikumar said he was initially apprehensive about working with Balayya. “Many of my friends told me that it would be difficult to work with Balakrishna since is an angry-man in real-life too. But he disproved my false notions with his friendly-nature and professionalism. Now, I have great regard for him,” he concludes.
