Jayanthi is alive, says family

 The 73-year-old actress who was seen in Telugu movies like ‘Jagadeka Veeruni Katha,’ ‘Doctor Chakravarthy,’ ‘Kondaveeti Simham’ and ‘Kumara Raja’ has acted in more than 500-odd movies in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Marathi films and shared screen space with legends like NTR, ANR, MGR and Dr Rajkumar. 

The actress was rushed to a private hospital in Bengaluru on Sunday morning after she complained of difficulty in breathing. She was being monitored in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit, and had been put on a ventilator.

While several media reports suggested that the veteran star had passed away, but her family has denied reports of her demise. Jayanthi was admitted to Vikram Hospital in the capital city of Karnataka, the report further states. The Kannada star is reportedly now under recovery.

According to sources, Jayanthi  was shifted out of the ICU on Tuesday and was said to be on the road to recovery. The source further stated that  the veteran actor was responding well to the treatment and would be kept in the hospital for a couple of days more.
