Nawazuddin Siddiqui is Phenomenal in Thackeray Says Shoojit Sircar

Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar says Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Thackeray is Phenomenal and the film is a powerful and bold depiction of eminent leader’s life and politics.

Shoojit interacted with media after attending the special screening for the forthcoming film, 'Thackeray' on Wednesday.

Talking about the film and his expectations, Shoojit said, “I came here with a different expectation but really it is a powerful and bold film. The things and politics Bala Saheb Thackeray did for people of Maharashtra, which has been depicting in such a powerful and bold manner, I wasn’t expecting it” 

“I think it is really good that in cinema, such a political film with such a bold and political message is being shown. I would like to congratulate Nawazuddin Siddiqui, he has given a perfect performance of Bal Thackeray in the film. And my congratulations to Sanjay Raut, that he backed such a film”

Further adding Shoojit said the film will open new doors for filmmakers to take bold and powerful biopic’s on political leaders and the film will be trend-setter.

He said, “I think now the trend will continue with political biopic in the film industry. I think this film will give a very bold message to a lot of filmmakers. I believe people should watch it, the movie talks about the struggles of ‘Bal Thackeray’ and how he spent his entire life in the service of Maharashtra, which is worth the watch in the film and one should especially watch Nawazzuddin in the film, he is just phenomenal”

The film also stars, Amrita Rao as Meena Tai Thackeray.

Directed by Abhijit Panse and produced by Viacom Motion pictures the film will release on 25th Jan 2019.
