Thackeray will give a very bold message to filmmakers in India

Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar says the film is very powerful and will give a very bold message to filmmakers in India.

Shoojit interacted with media after attending the special screening for the forthcoming film, 'Thackeray' on Wednesday.

Talking about the film, the 'October' director said, "I had come with different expectations but it is a really powerful film. The film shows the decisions Balasaheb took for the betterment of Maharashtra and his people. And the way they have presented it so boldly I wasn't expecting that. I think it is very good that such kind of political films with such bold messages  are  releasing.

After this film, I think political biopics will become a trend. This film will give a very bold message to the filmmakers." he added.

The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the titular role Amrita Rao as Meena Tai Thackeray.  

Praising the cast Sircar said, "I would like to congratulate Nawazuddin for giving a perfect Balasaheb Thackeray's performance, I think people should go to watch him as an actor. And my congratulations to Sanjay Raut that he backed such a film."

Directed by Abhijit Panse and produced by Viacom Motion Pictures the film will release on 25th Jan 2019.
