Divya Treiyam dance festival

 Shankarananda Kalakshetra in association with Department of Language and Culture, Government of Telangana is organising a special event ‘Divya Treiyam’ that explores divine concepts through Bharatanatyam. It was conceptualised and curated by well-known art consultant and arts administrator, Dr Usha RK in the city onApril 15 at Ravindra Bharathi from 6:30 pm onwards.

Divya Treiyam looks at the divine resonances, attributes, vehicles, and flowers, that define worship of the divine in Hinduism, divinity or the gods and goddesses are often identified by their attributes, their vehicles, their weapons, the flowers they love, the colours they wear, the hand gestures they use, the musical instruments they play, etc.

6 young dancers from Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi will present ‘Divya Pushpa’, ‘Divya Astra’ and ‘Divya Vahana’ which are specially created individual presentations of 20 minutes, each on any one aspect. Each presentation is deeply researched, unique, and brings to the fore through the idiom of Bharatanatyam, ideas that permeate the worlds of the Puranas, Poetry, and Prayer.
