KTR launches underpass project

Ayyappa Society: Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K Taraka Rama Rao along with Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy and Transport Minister Mahender Reddy inaugurated the underpasses at Ayyappa Society near Madhapur on Wednesday.

The 450-metre-long underpass project costs around Rs 44.30 crore. Under the Ayyappa Society route, 220 metres and the 160 metres long side of the Kondapur was undertaken by the 10 metres wide, including 7 metres carriageway. Movement over 9,000 vehicles per hour has been witnessed in the area. The construction of the underpass, which began on August 8, 2016, has been completed before the deadline. Officials claim that the traffic woes in the area would be reduced with this project.

Speaking on the occasion KTR said that the GHMC has called for tenders of Rs 3 crore for the development work in the city. He said that it is good that the Under-Pass Bridge has been completed ahead of deadline and all roads in the city will soon be developed by using new technology. There is no truth in the allegations that roads in Hyderabad are for the Ivanka Trump’s tour. 

It will take some time to make Hyderabad a universal one. The other government proposed projects work will be completed in 2018, he added.Home Minister Naini Narshimha Reddy said, “It is the government's purpose to ensure that Hyderabad is a traffic signal free city. KTR is trying to make Hyderabad a universal city.”

Meanwhile, the work for an underpass at Mind Space will be completed by March 2018, Mind Space flyover by June 2018, Biodiversity flyover by March 2019 and Rajiv Gandhi statue flyover will be completed by December 2018.
