Secunderabad:  North Zone DCP Sumati has called for serious approach to investigate even minor cases to reduce the crime rate.

Reviewing progress of various cases under investigation in police stations under the north zone limits at Sikh Village here on Monday, she advocated investigating each and every case registered with various police stations rather seriously to crack them within the time stipulated.

She distributed key performance index (KPI) awards to the meritorious police personnel working in 13 police stations under the north zone limits, including the mahila police station at Begumpet.

She exhorted various wings in the police department to strive to ensure that their wing gets KPI award with their meritorious performance.

The KPI awards are being given away to encourage the best performers. She wanted those who have not received the award to improve their performance to bag the award.  She wanted police stations not to neglect investigation of minor cases after registering them.

The police should crack the case and ensure that the offenders are brought to the book to prevent bigger crimes from taking place.

Cases under investigation dating back to three months were limited to just 900 as against the 2000 last year in various police stations under the north zone limits.
She wanted the same style of functioning should be continued.
