Free ‘upanayanam’ conducted

Ramanthpur: A free ‘upanayanam’ (thread ceremony) programme for Brahmin boys was organised on a grand scale at Saibaba temple in Venkatreddynagar under the auspices of the Bhagyanagar Brahmana Seva Samiti. Veda pandits K Radhakrishna and Vamsi Sarma supervised  Ganapathi pooja and other rituals. 

On the occasion, 40 Brahmins from two Telugu States were given ‘brahmopadesam’. Uppal MLA N V S S Prabhakar, who was among those present, complimented the samiti for organising such dharmic events. 

President of the samiti Mohan Sarma, founder-members M Ramprasad, N Vishnumurthy, Siricilla Rama Sarma, M L Sarma stated that the samiti was conducting seva activities during the last 12 years.

Representatives of the samiti Vinod Sarma, Damodar Satyanarayana Sarma, Mahadeva Sarma, Chandu, Narasimha Murthy, Bhavani, Samyukta, Triveni, Sridevi, Madhavi  were  among those present.
