Nacharam: The shops in the local vegetable market catering to the needs of people of Raghavendranagar, Indiranagar and Annapurna Colony, among others,  and  constructed in the year 2005 at a cost of Rs.20 lakh are lying vacant causing a loss of revenue to the government.

The municipal officials invite tenders every year for allocating the shops. But they continue remain unoccupied. The shops are lying neglected during the last decade. Local residents attribute this to the negligent attitude of the officials concerned.

Shop-keepers in the vegetable market say that it would be better if the vacant shops are allotted to them, instead of allowing them to decay. This would help avoid loss of revenue to the exchequer, they told The Hans India.
