RDO visits govt hospital to probe corruption charges
Tandur: Revenue Divisional Officer Venu Madhava Rao on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to the government hospital here and questioned the hospital staff about irregularities taking place here. The RDO said that there was a complaint against the hospital medical officer accusing him of receiving a bribe of Rs 6000 from a woman of Antaram village, Padma, to conduct piles surgery on her.
As there was no action in spite of lodging a complaint with the police against the hospital authorities, she approached the district collector for justice. Therefore, he put that the purpose of his visit to the hospital was to probe into the complaint. There were also allegations of irregularities against the hospital superintendent.
