Birth anniversary celebrations of Hazrat Ali ends on high note

Charminar: The three days celebrations of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Ali (A.S) ended with Muslims cutting cakes and offering sahera e mubarak to alam and culminating with offering of sandal e mubarak on 16 rajjab.

The celebration started on 13th rajjab from Moula Ali with sahra e mubarak.  In Hyderabad the celebrations ended on 17 rajjab 11:30 am on Thursday after offering sandal to alam e  mubarrak at Moula Ali hill.

A procession with palanquins and people dressed in colourful attire was taken out from the Old City which has come to be known as sandal juloos. Many were seen sporting seven coloured sherwani and turbans. Enroute, people were welcomed with offerings. The sandal and alam e mubarak were carried out on elephant, horse and camels with different design of lights.
