Saahas Utsav-2018:Annual sport meet begins

Vikarabad: The Annual Sports Meet ‘Saahas Utsav-2018’ was commenced at Mahavir Institute of Medical Sciences, here on Thursday. The event which is being held from 19-21 April was inaugurated by T Annapurna, Superintendent of Police at college campus by lighting the lamp and releasing the balloons.  

The Dean Dr N Udaya Kiran in his welcome address emphasised that students need to participate in sports to learn the quality of leadership by working unitedly in a team with spirit of sportsmanship. Speaking on the occasion, T Annapurna said sports are a source of great motivation and encouragement. She also said sports teach discipline and give pleasure. She applauded the services being offered by the Mahavir General Hospital to the people of district. 

She advised the students to take care of their health by actively taking part in sports activities so that they can be stress free as they have chosen a noble profession of Medicine as their career choice. Director Dr Syed Imam Showkath Ali, CEO K Harikrishna Babu, Vice-Dean Dr Saidunnissa, Medical Superintendent Dr HP Bhagat, Students council Chairman Dr NSVM Prabhakara Rao, staff and students participated in the event.
