OU will introduce academic audit: VC
OU Campus: Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof S Ramachandram said that the Ministry of Human Resources Development sanctioned Rs 100 crore to the university on the basis of excellence and quality under the Uchchatar Rashtriya Shiksha Abhiyan. Also, it sanctioned Rs 7 crore for faculty development programme.

The funds will be used for
1. Building girls’ hostel
2. Renovating college buildings
3. Upgradation of hostels and its toilets
4. Upgradation of Tagore stadium
5. Laying of running tracks
6. Purchase of books and journals
7. Acquiring lab equipment
8. New building for Academic Staff College
Disclosing this to media at his lodge on Sunday, the vice-chancellor said that the university is expecting to receive the sanctioned funds in July. With the funds girls’ hostel would be built, college buildings would be renovated, hostels and its toilets would be upgraded, running tracks would be laid, books and journals would be purchased, computing and high computing works would be implemented, lab equipment would be acquired, Tagore stadium would be upgraded, the Academic Staff College would have new buildings, he said.
He said that academic audit would be introduced from this academic year onwards to improve academic excellence.
It includes preparing of test papers, obtaining feedback from students on subjects, review of the subject in the middle of the semester, allotment of one hour to clear students’ doubts and so on. The teacher has to submit a hand out to students on a subject prior to the semester examinations.
