4-week PG certificate course in teaching English ends

Secunderabad: The classes for the four-week PGCTE (Post-Graduate Certificate in the Teaching of English) Contact cum Examination Programme 2018 concluded at the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad.

The concluding session was attended by Prof E Suresh Kumar, vice chancellor, EFLU. The Professor emphasised the need for such programmes. The four-week programme would help the teachers teaching English to use innovative methods, production and selection of course materials for English language teaching, in interpreting literature and in the skills of linguistic analysis, grammar and phonetics.  The course is very popular among English teachers from around the country. 

This year’s programme was attended by 132 mostly in-service and some prospective English teachers who had come from around 20 states and Union territories (Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Assam, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, New Delhi, Karnataka, Nagaland, Haryana, Gujarat, Pondicherry). Those who successfully completed the course are eligible to register for PGDTE (Post-Graduate Diploma in the Teaching of English) at the EFLU.
