Foundation course for ASOs concludes
Hyderabad: The eleven-week foundation course for assistant section officers (ASOs) of Central Secretariat Service, Government of India, conducted by Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana concluded on Friday. The course, which was sponsored by Institute of Secretariat Training and Management, DoPT was attended by over ninety ASOs belonging to such States as Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana and UP.
AK Goel, advisor to Government of Telangana, who was the Chief Guest, said that the Central Secretariat Service is an extremely powerful wing of Government of India and advised the ASOs to use their positions for the greatest good of the greatest numbers. Continuing his address, he stated that the demands of contemporary world of work in the 21st century were highly dynamic in nature and advised the ASOs to contribute their optimum best in order to measure up to the expectations from them.
B P Acharya, Special Chief Secretary and DG, Dr MCR HRD Institute, in his presidential address, said that the ASOs play an important role in processing of proposals received from different States and thereby contributing to bringing about a positive change in the lives of millions of people. He, therefore, advised them to understand the aspirations of people and process files with a human touch. He congratulated the ASOs for submitting high-quality reports as a part of their village visits and informed them that the concerned District Collectors are initiating corrective actions in the light of their recommendations.
AK Goel and BP Acharya gave away Trophies in Sports & Games and also Awards on Presentation of Reports on Village Visits, Bharat Darshan, and Analysis of Cases & Annual Reports to the ASOs. Miss Chestha Goel and Nitin Kakarwal, who spoke on behalf of the ASOs, said that the Foundation Course not only improved their knowledge and skills but also enriched their overall personality profile. M P Sethy, Chief Consultant (Training & e-Learning) welcomed the gathering and presented a report on the Foundation Course. B Venkatswara Rao, ADG proposed a vote of thanks. Professor Deepa Nair, Head CUDS & Course Coordinator (Non- Academics) conducted proceedings of the event.
