CM’s KCR Spouse present Mangalsutra to Yellamma

Balkampet:  Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, accompanied by spouse Sobha and daughter-in-law Sailima, took part in the three-day Goddess Yellamma kalyanotsavam celebrations under way at Yellamma temple in Balkampet on the second day on Tuesday. 

Amidst chanting of Vedic hymns by the priests, Endowments Minister Indrakaran Reddy and Cinematography Minister Talasani Yadav presenting silk clothes to the deity.

The Chief Minister’s spouse presented ‘mangalsutra’ to the Goddess, while her daughter-in-law presented silk clothes to the Goddess. 

Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the event as devotees, in their thousands, thronged the temple choking the streets in Balkampet.

City Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and his spouse also took part in the event. 

Performances of Sivasattus and Oggu artistes were the highlight of the celebrations.  The event will come to a close on Wednesday with the performance of the Maha Shanti Chandi Yagam. 

In the evening, Goddess Yellamma was taken out in a procession on a chariot. With the returning of the chariot to the temple, curtain rings down on the celebrations.
