Chanchalguda jail officials plant teak, rose, ornamental plants

Chanchalguda: As part of Haritha Haram programme, the jail officials of Chanchalguda Central Prison undertook plantations on its premises on Thursday. The Superintendent of Prisons, K Arjuna Rao inaugurated the programme and planted teak, rose and ornamental plants.  As part of this initiative, a total of 800 saplings of different varieties would be planted by next week for increasing green cover on the premises and surrounding areas.

Speaking on the occasion, Arjuna Rao said that the Haritha Haram programme being undertaken by State government has increased the social responsibility amongst each and every individual. He further said that plantation of saplings helps in maintaining the ecological balance apart from increasing the beauty of the premises. 

He asserted that the institution would take up necessary measures to enhance the green cover by planting several varieties of plants in the premises of Central Prison and will be maintained effectively. Deputy Superintendents of Prisons, Dr D Srinivas, Dr P Saibaba, Jailors, A Venkatesham, S Vijaykumar, Deputy Jailors, S Rajasekhar Reddy, Ch Harshawardhan and other staff took part in the activity.
