‘Haj pilgrims can carry Rs 2,000 notes’
Hyderabad: Special Officer of State Haj Committee, Prof S A Shukoor on Sunday informed that the Haj pilgrims could carry Rs 2,000 Indian currency note to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia this year, unlike its restrictions the previous year.
While addressing the 14th Haj Orientation Training Camp at Masjid Hussaini in Vijaynagar Colony, he explained that there was no restriction on carrying currency notes of Rs 2,000 denomination to Saudi Arabia and any denomination of legal notes could be carried within the limit permitted under Foreign Exchange Management (Export and Import of Currency) Regulations 2015.
He advised the pilgrims to practice walking for five to six km daily, carry medical prescription and reports along with medicines. He said that pilgrims would be issued SIM cards at Hyderabad before their departure. He announced that individual flight schedule of the Haj pilgrims has been issued by the Haj committee of India and the pilgrims could finalise their programme accordingly. He said that the Haj flights would take off from August 1 to 16.
