Awareness programme on family counselling held
Moghalpura: An Awareness Programme on how the ‘family counselling centres’ help in resolving familial disputes between couples from ending up their marriage, owing to trivial issues was organised in coordination with Telangana Taj Mahila Welfare Society and Ministry of Women & Child Development (TS) at Urdu Ghar in Moghalpura on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the chairperson, State Social Welfare Board, Ragam Sujatha Yadav, who was the chief guest, said that the Board was steadfast in ensuring that the married couple does not part ways over trivial issues arising in their relationships. “If any of the couples are not able to sort out their problems it is better they visit any of our counselling centres to resolve the issues.
Experts will help them come up with solutions over small problems which if not answered could end up the relationship. These counselling centres are run by experts and provide free counselling to those who need the support and they should avail the facility. We shall be coming up with similar counselling centres in districts in the near future,” she said. The Director of Welfare Society, Raza Ali said the counselling centre being run in Old City for several years has helped scores of couples continue their familial life. “We do not charge for settling up the matters, as the government is assisting in this endeavour,” he noted.
While others who attended the awareness programme opined that the counselling services being provided by the Society has helped the couples not only continue their married life happily, but also they have now become proud grand-parents following marriage of their own sons and daughters. Some others held that experts at the counselling centre do thorough analysis of the case and following case study, an expert would counsel the couples to continue their married life. This may not be resolved in a single sitting, but could take four to five sittings sometimes, they opined.
