Govt taking all measures for women safety
Chaderghat: An awareness programme on women protection, organised jointly by the state women and child welfare department and state social welfare board, was held here at Shariyar Manzil, Kattalguda, on Monday. Telangana state social welfare board chair person Ragam Sujatha Yadav attended the program as chief guest. She inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, Sujatha Yadav stated that the state government had been initiating several measures for women safety. The state government had decided to conduct programs to create awareness among women on their safety and the state social welfare board had been given the responsibility to conduct the programmes, she informed.
Explaining various schemes initiated by the state government for the welfare of women, she said that the state CM KCR was committed to the overall development of women. A special book has been published by the state social welfare board explaining various women schemes, rights of women, laws and several aspects of gender prejudice and the books would be distributed freely to women to create awareness among them, she said. Several resource persons, advocates, doctors and others spoke on the occasion, explaining women on the women issues.
Telangana Taj women welfare society director Raja Ali Mirza, Dr Birjis Unnisa, legal officer of women and child welfare department Rufiabhan, chairman of Mathrusakhi Foundation Hasini Yadav, advocate Jayaprakash, Rahayala Fathima, the board project officer N Prashanthi, officers Suvarna, Vakula Kumari, Kiran Kumar and others participated in the progam.
