37 child labours rescued during cordon & search operations

Bahadurpura: Following several complaints about child labours working at few places, the South zone police acted immediately and conducted a cordon and search operation at Chacha Garage at Siddiqui Nagar of Bhavaninagar PS limits and RK Towers under Bahadurpura PS limits.

Cordon search operation started at 8:30 pm and was completed by 11 pm. 250 police personals participated under the guidance of B Anjaiah, ACP Charminar and Shivaram Sharma, ACP Santoshnagar. Later addressing the media, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South zone V Satyanarayana said, "With special focus on child labour we conducted cordon and search operation, 21 children were rescued from bangles & bag manufacturing units from Bahadurpura PS limits & 16 children were rescued from Bhavaninagar PS limits, who were found working in unhygienic conditions and with very less pay. 

All the rescued children were in the age group between 6 and 13 yrs and were natives of Bihar state. South zone police said they would go tough on owners who were running this units by using child labours. Cases will be handed over to child line officials for further action. 13 rowdy sheeters and three suspects were taken into custody to check their criminal activities. 

57 two wheelers & three autos were detained which were found without proper documents. With the community support the cordon and search operation was performed and local public welcomed the initiative by the police. More cordon and search operations will be undertaken in the coming days", said V Satyanarayana.
