Talasani reviews August 5 Bonalu in Old City

Lal Darwaza: Minister for Animal Husbandry and Cinematography, Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Wednesday reviewed the arrangements for the Bonalu procession which will be carried out on August 5. He along with the officials of various departments reviewed the arrangements all along with way where the annual procession of Bonalu passes through. 

Speaking on the occasion, he informed that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who wishes to highlight the culture of Telangana had sanctioned Rs 15 crore for the festivities. While emphasising the safety of women during the procession, he asserted the policewomen were engaged on the route and to ensure free passage of the procession barricades would be erected. Talasani asked the temple committees to ensure that the devotees remain at ease during the celebrations. He also asked the officials to ensure continuous power supply during the event and to maintain sanitation and drinking water supply on the route. 

The minister also visited Venkat Rao Memorial High School and planted saplings as part of the ongoing Haritha Haram programme. He also distributed plants of different varieties to school children. He enquired about the implementation of mid-day meals scheme and educational standards of the school.
