Activists, leaders and social workers take part in awareness rally : Breastfeeding enhances resistance power in children

Charminar: As part of breastfeeding week celebrations, Shaheen, a women’s resource and welfare association on Tuesday organised awareness programme and a walk from Charminar to Madina Circle. 

Women and Child Welfare Department director, Viziendira Boyi, who participated as the chief guest, requested participants to encourage breastfeeding and shared the benefits of the same. 

Jameela Nishat, chief functionary of Shaheen shared her views on the same and emphasised the need of generating awareness in the modern world. 

Around 300 members participated in the programme. Some of the participants shared the benefits getting from ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services) centres. 

Later, a special Awareness Walk for Breastfeeding was also organised from Charminar to Madina Circle in which Charminar MLA Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri and local corporator, Syed Sohail Quadri also took part. 

Pasha Quadri said that breastfeeding enhances resistance power in children.
