4,000 Haj pilgrims reach Mecca

Hyderabad: As many as 4,200 Haj pilgrims from Telangana left for Mecca by 14 special Haj flights to perform Haj. So far 3,900 pilgrims from the State have reached the holy city. Mohammed Fareeduddin, MLC & former Minister, Moulana Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed, president Jamiat Ulama Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Mohammed Masiullah Khan, chairman, State Haj Committee, Prof SA Shukoor, special officer, Haj Committee, Congress leader, Md Khaleeq-ur-Rahman and others bid farewell to them and flagged off the 14th batch of pilgrims here on Wednesday.

Mohammed Fareeduddin requested the pilgrims to pray for peace, progress and prosperity of the nation and the State. Mohammed Masiullah Khan Chairman State Haj Committee said that pilgrims should spend their time in prayers. Prof. S. A. Shukoor Special Officer Haj Committee said that the TS Haj Committee also makes arrangements for departure of Haj pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.  Akber Hussain, Chairman, Telangana State Minorities Finance Corporation, members of the Telangana State Haj Committee M A. Shafi, Mohammed Imtiaz Khan, Mohammed Arifuddin and others were present on the occasion.
