International conference concludes in IICT
Hyderabad: The final day of Su-Chem-2018 international conference held in CSIR-IICT kick started with popular lecture and three technical sessions covering research topics on ‘Materials & Catalysis’, ‘Health & Agro’ and ‘Energy & Environment’. Three sessions included eight lectures by invited speakers from India, the USA and Europe.
The second session included four series lectures by invited speakers. The first lecture was given by Prof. Kamer (Germany) on the design and development of artificial rhodium hydro-formylase enzymes for the production of linear aldehydes. He demonstrated the ability to develop new catalytic systems with accelerated catalytic rates of hydro-formylation.
Dr. Motkuri from PNNL (US) lectured on MOF systems for adsorption cooling applications. His group has developed a novel approach for the large-scale synthesis of MOFs that have displayed optimal performance in adsorption cooling at ambient conditions. Two lectures by Dr. T P Radhakrishnan (University of Hyderabad) and Dr. Gowda (Germany). Dr. Radhakrishnan explained the strategy by combining the metal, semi-conductor with polymer to develop a novel “dip catalysts” for applications in sensors, water purification.
