IICT’s Mondal honoured with NASI Award

Hyderabad: Dr John Mondal, a scientist of Catalysis and Fine Chemicals Division, Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Tarnaka, has been honoured with the NASI-Young Scientist Platinum Jubilee Award-2018 of The National Academy of Sciences in chemical sciences. The award carrying a citation, a bronze medal and Rs 25,000 was in recognition of his outstanding research contributions. 

Dr Mondal is the recipient of various prestigious awards, including Telangana Academy of Sciences (TAS) Young Scientist - 2016, DST-Inspire Faculty Research - 2015 and fellowships/ honours, including Jaun De La Cierva Fellowship - 2015. 

His research area is mainly design and development of novel porous organic polymer (POPs) and N-doped carbon, as derived from metal-organic-framework (MOFs) based catalytic systems for air pollution control, bio-mass conversion to value-added products, green synthesis of fine chemicals, production of solar fuels, and conversion of greenhouse gases into useful chemicals.
