SHE Teams services are indispensable: SP
Nalgonda: Superintendent of Police Srinivas Rao informed that with the effective functioning of SHE Teams, attacks on women were reduced considerably in the district. The SP along with ASP Padmanabha Reddy and SHE Teams district in- charge and women police station CI Anuradha unveiled the 2018 calendar designed by district SHE Teams at DPO meeting hall in Nalgonda on Tuesday.
Addressing the girl students on the occasion, the SP said soon after the formation of Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, paying special attention to women’s security, constituted SHE Teams in 2015 to curb attacks on women. He appreciated the district SHE Teams police in reducing the crimes on women especially eve-teasing.
He advised the women to take the help of SHE Teams to protect themselves from miscreants and from various forms of violence at working and public places. Anuradha informed that they have so far registered 71 cases since its inception and 84 accused have been arrested. Similarly, 1,026 persons were counseled in connection with abusing and attacking women in the erstwhile Nalgonda district, and as many as 414 awareness programmes were conducted.
