BLF vows to bring in change
Khammam: Claiming itself as the only alternative to present political parties, the leaders of the yet to be formed Bahujana Left Front (BLF) have exuded confidence that they would change the fate of the poor and downtrodden.
Addressing a meeting presided over by the CPI (M) district secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao here on Wednesday, the BLF State leader Nalla Surya Prakash criticised the State government for not fulfilling its promises made to the SC, ST, BC, Minorities and other distressed sections during the 2014 elections.
“Even though the Dalits, Adivasis, BCs and Minorities form a huge chunk of population, 93 per cent to be precise, the TRS government has casual concern towards them,” he said. There was not much to choose among the TRS, Congress and Telugu Desam as all these parties are anti-people and had tried to suppress the Left parties, he said.CPM Central Committee member Cherupalli Sitaramulu said the TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao seemed to have forgotten his promise of making a Dalit leader the first Chief Minister of Telangana if his party came to power.
He accused the government of neglecting the problems of farmers. Even though the farmers are struggling to get remunerative price to their produce, the government had not taken any proactive measure to address the problem, he added. Stating that BLF was the only alternative in the State to address the problems of the poor and downtrodden, the leaders said BLF which consists of 28 parties will be formed at a meeting in Hyderabad on January 25.
They said that the BLF will contest all the 119 seats in the State in the next elections. CPM State secretariat member P Sudarshan Rao, Ponnam Venkateswar Rao, Yerra Srikanth, Kalyanam Venkateswar Rao, Bathula Lenin, Bhukya Veerabhadram, Macharla Bharathi, Bandi Ramesh, BV Raghavulu, T-MASS district leader D Jwalitha and M Rama Rao were among others present.
