Seven arrested on charge of baby selling in Bhongir

Bibinagar (Yadadri- Bhongir): Yadadri- Bhongir district  Deputy Commissioner of P Ramachandra Reddy here on Friday warned the stringent action would be taken against child traffickers and those who sell their babies.

The police paraded in all seven accused who were arrested for selling a baby in Chinna Palugu Thanda under Gurrala Dhandi village under Bibinagar mandal.

Ramachandra Reddy told the media that couple Bukya Shekar and Badri Briefing the case details, DCP Ramachandra Reddy said , the couple Bukya Shekar and Badri had sold their newborn baby girl to a childless couple through the mediation of a quack, who is known as RMP doctor.

The couple decided to sell their newborn baby because they have already two daughters. Shekar’s brother-in-law to play a role in selling the baby, the DCP said. The baby was sold for Rs 25,000. The RMP doctor was identified as Narasing Rao.

Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) officials had investigated into the case and communicated the information to the police. The arrested are Bukya Shekar Banothu Pandu, Bitchya, Edamma, Narasing Rao, Narsimha, and Manga. The police recovered Rs 13,000 from their possession.

The police handed over the baby, who was sold to the childless couple, to ICDS officials. Assistant Commissioner of Police Jithender Reddy, Circle Inspector Srinivas Reddy, Sub-Inspector Vijay Krishna Murthy , SHE team ASI Krishnaiah, ICDS official Viajaya Rani and others were present at the media conference.
