Three arrested for lifting tractor engines, trolleys
Halia (Nalgonda): The district police have arrested three notorious interstate burglars and seized Rs 53 lakh worth stolen property including seven tractor engines, 17 trolleys, one cell phone and a motorcycle from their possession.
The arrested were identified as Gunji Venkata Krishna (27) a daily labour, Battula Hanmanth Rao (26) a driver and Battula Goparaju (23) a labourer, all natives of Ammireddygudem village of Gampalagudem Mandal of Krishna district of neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
Producing the arrested persons before the media in Halia, District SP AV Ranganath informed that the two persons from the gang carry out a recce and along with the third person would steal the tractor parts from tractors parked infront of locked surroundings. Later, they would sell the stolen material in Vijayawada and Guntur.
The trio has committed 15 crimes in erstwhile Nalgonda district and five in other districts. The police team led by Halia CI Danunjay Goud arrested the trio at a shop located at Khammam crossroads in Kodad town on Thursday and recovered the stolen tractor engines and tractor trolleys. SP Ranganath appreciated the team members and announced a reward of Rs 10,000.
