Will it be end of the road for Chintamaneni?
Finally, it seems loud mouth and bashing-happy MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar has his comeuppance. The Bhimadole court has sentenced him to two year imprisonment and asked him to pay a fine of Rs 2000 in a case pertaining to his attack on the then minister Vatti Vasantha Kumar and MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao in 2011.
Chintamaneni has over 42 cases against him. But, in most cases, the people were afraid of giving evidence. But, in this case, Vatti Vasantha Kumar gave evidence and provided video evidence of the attack to seal Chantamaneni’s fate.
On November 26, 2011, he physically attacked Vatti Vasantha Kumar and even attacked his gunmen. Vatti filed a case against him in this connection. During the hearin, Chintamaneni ensured that no official gave evidence. But, Vatti has provided video evidence to the court. Due to this conviction, he might lose his MLA post and may not be able to contest in the 2019 elections. If he does not get any reprieve from the Supreme Court, this could even be an end to his career.
