TSIDC chairman Baig likely to say bye-bye to TRS

Khammam: Close on the heels of Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy’s resignation from the party, the TRS seems to face another jolt with the reports doing rounds that Telangana State Irrigation Development Corporation (TSIDC) chairman Budan Baig Shaik is prepared to quit the party.

According to reports, Baig is unhappy with the party leadership for some time. Sources say that he is likely to join the Telugu Desam Party. He was incommunicado when The Hans India tried to contact him to ascertain the veracity of the news.

Baig’s exit from the ruling party could well be a huge blow as it likely to hurt the chances of Khammam Assembly TRS candidate Puvvada Ajay Kumar. It may be noted here that there are around 30,000 Muslim voters in the constituency. It’s learnt that Baig who is closeted with his followers is likely to give clarity later in the evening.

Baig who unsuccessfully contested for Khammam Lok Sabha in 2014 on TRS ticket had also worked as the party’s district convener. TRS Government appointed him as the chairman of the TSIDC in March 2017.
