150 vehicles arranged for physically challenged to vote

Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner and DEO M. Dana Kishore appealed all the physically challenged and disabled persons to come forward to cast their vote on Friday.
 
The GHMC has arranged 150 vehicles on different routes to carry them right from their residences to to the Polling Station to cast their vote. This has been planned in a systematic manner with timings covering all the persons in that particular route.
 
The vehicles will start from 8AM to 10AM likewise every 2 hours difference slots have been arranged where they will be covered all the assigned routes. This will last till the poll end.
 
The DEO appealed all the drivers deployed to cast their vote and perform their duties by 8AM and appreciated the services rendered by the students who are coordinating the transportation arrangements for the convenience of physically challenged persons to reach their concerned polling station. The students N.S.S. Volunteers are being paid a sum of Rs. 600/- towards the remuneration for their services on the poll day said the DEO.
 
There are about 18,000 PWD voters in all the 15 Assembly Constituencies for which 10 vehicles for each Assembly Constituency is being provided i.e., 150 vehicles for all the 15 ACs have been deployed. With the help of VAADA app mapping has been done to pick up the voters from their residences, vehicles like Autos, Indica cars which can move easily in lanes and by lanes and big vehicles will go round on the main roads.. This VAADA app has been appreciated by the ECI for effective working for the convenience of the PWD Voters.
 
The DEO has appreciated the services rendered by Hari Chandana, Addl.Commissioner for taking up active participation duly coordinating with various NGOs, UCD Wing to increase the voting percentage.
 
Earlier, the DEO flagged off the vehicles at People Plaza, Hari Chandana, Addl. Commissioner welcomed the Commissioner & DEO and explained about the activities taken under SVEEP and other various initiatives taken by the GHMC for the ensuing elections.
 
The DEO thanked the media for creating awareness to the voters and appealed all the voters to cast their vote tomorrow to elect their right representative to have a good Government.
