High-end preparedness - HudHud Blue Book helping

With the help of the ‘Blue Book’ which was prepared with the rich experience in attending the emergency works after the very severe cyclonic storm HudHud in October, 2014 the district administration swung into action to attend any emergency situation in view of the Phethai cyclone.
After the Sunday’s high alerts that the Phethai is expected to cross the shore between Kakinada and Visakhapatnam, the chief minister called up the district administration and inquired about high-end preparedness to ensure zero human loss and to minimise the property loss, if system crosses the coast in the north coastal districts.
The southern side coastal mandals including Payakaraopeta, S.Rayavaram, Rambilli, Nakkapalli and Atchutapuram are expected to be affected due to the cyclone which is coming to the coast.
The district administration already procured ready of drinking water packets and water tanks have been kept ready and bein deployed to the suspecting affected areas. The kitchen activated with food material for about 10,000 people.
Necessary LPG cylinders and shifted to the community kitchens and cooks also deputed. Candles and kerosene for emergency also kept ready, if the power failed. Over 50 percent of additional stocks have been placed at all the Fair Price Shops in the five mandals
EPDCL GEARED UP:
With the experience of the HudHyd and Title cyclones, the APEPDCL shifted 19,000 electric poles to East Godavari and some parts of Visakhapatnam. The EPDCL also shifted over 350 transformers.
Senior engineers, linemen and ground work workers have been deployed. The workforce of the EPDCL shifted to various areas for immediate services in the affected areas.
