Crucial year ahead for Metro Expansion
Update: 2018-12-24 23:19 IST
Bengaluru: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMCRL) is expected to complete two extensions of Namma Metro Phase 1 - from the Mysuru Road Station at Nayandahalli to Kengeri and from Yelachenahalli on Kanakapura Road to Anjanapura Township - by 2020 in efforts to ease traffic on the outskirts.
Commuters are hoping for some progress on this front in 2019 as only 40% of the work has been completed on the line from Byappanahalli to Whitefield. Ground work is also likely to commence on the line between Central Silk Board and KR Puram , home to several tech companies. The government is yet to sign a line between Nagawara and Kempegowda International Airport as Metro extends at a slow rate.
