Fire NOC must for all exhibitions: GHMC Chief
Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner M. Dana Kishore said that it has been decided in the convergence meeting that hereafter whenever wherever exhibitions are being organized it has been made compulsory that NOC from Fire Services has to be taken along with the lay out approval how the shops are being placed any chances of fire etc., will be properly taken care in the lay out keeping in view of the recent fire accident taken place at exhibition grounds at Nampally area.
The convergence meeting has been held today at HMWS&SB office at Kahirtabad wherein it has been discussed and decided that compulsory that necessary permissions and water arrangements be made at the exhibitions organized for safety measures to utilize the water during fire accidents to stop the fire immediately.
It has also been observed that in the stalls at exhibition shop owners are cooking the food in the stalls which has to be avoided in the near future for safety purpose. Electricity Department officials must inspect before the opening of the exhibition the matter is being place before the Government for strictly implementing the rules and regulations, said the Commissioner.
The Commissioner directed the Zonal and Deputy Commissioners to inspect the markets and other business establishments in coordination with fire Officers, Electricity Department, Police Officials and other Government Heads in the jurisdiction to conduct the meeting to take decisions for safety precautionary measures.
Dana Kishore said that HMWS&SB Sewerage lines GHMC Strom Water Drains are mixing causing lot of problems, 87 places have been identified and planning to take up the works for separate lines with a cost of Rs. 20 crores which will be completed before the monsoon with which during monsoon seasons there will not be any inconvenience to the citizens.
Every Friday convergence meetings used to held at every Zonal Office it should be conducted regularly this also been decided in the convergence meeting said the Commissioner. Responding to the media queries the Commissioner said what all the discussions have been taken in early convergence meeting all are being taken up in phased manner.
Even the private operators like Airtel, BSNL, Jio etc., have been invited to the meeting for taking care of their manholes around 3 to 4 thousand are existing in the GHMC limits are not being maintaining properly, instructions have been given for proper handling if not they will not be granted road permissions the Commissioner added.
All the line department officials including, 3 Police Commissioners have attended the meeting and dissatisfied about the Chief Engineer (Road Development Authority) absence in the meeting.
