Jayadeva flyover work set to begin soon, locals worry about traffic congestion

 BENGALURU: Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has decided to demolish Jayadeva flyover by March-end or early April. Locals from of nearby areas like BTM Layout, Jayanagar and Bannerghatta Road have their doubts about the traffic congestion this exercise is going to cost them. Jayadeva Junction is set to be remodelled so that an additional elevated road and the interchange Metro station of Reach 5 line (RV Road to Bommasandra) and Reach 6 line (Gottigere to Nagawara) can be set in place. 

While the demolition work itself is set to be  completed in three months, the BMRCL, traffic police and BMTC, have come up with a traffic management plan during the work. 

Officials said they are taking all preventive steps to so that commuters and patients visiting nearby hospitals like Jayadeva cardiology institute have a smooth experience.  The demolition work is said to be undertaken only during night (10pm-6am) while the nearby roads will be closed during these hours. The debris will be transported in trucks by early morning to reduce air pollution.
