Will Lagadapati Rajagopal score again with his predictions on outcome of Telangana elections?

Update: 2018-12-02 05:30 IST

No clarity has emerged regarding the predictions made by former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Telangana Assembly election results. A section of respondents, particularly those from Adilabad, dismissed Rajagopal’s forecast that the Independent candidate would win from Boath constituency.

A respondent felt that at least five Independents may win.  Another section of respondents felt that Rajagopal’s surveys came close to actual results in the past. It may be true this time too. But there is no unanimous agreement whether Rajagopal’s survey would come true. One respondent said there is no point in believing in surveys as they failed to feel the pulse of the people in Tamil Nadu Assembly elections

I don’t think that Lagadapati Rajagopal’s predictions will come true again. His prediction on Friday about Boath Assembly constituency may fail. The main political parties -- TRS, Congress, and BJP -- are ahead of Anil Jadhav, who is an independent candidate. TRS Rathod Bapu Rao defeated Jadhav Anil in the 2014 Assembly elections by margin of 26,000  votes. So, I don’t think that Rajagopal’s predictions will come true this time. – Sunil Tiwari, Adilabad

Former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal predictions and surveys came close to actual results in the past. But this time the situation is different in Boath constituency. Jadhav Anil Kumar, an independent, MLA  in the dissolved Assembly and TRS nominee Rathod Bapu Rao, Congress nominee Soyam Bapu Rao, and BJP candidate Madavi Raju are in the fray. Jadhav Anil Kumar and Rathod Bapu Rao both belong to the same community Lambadas and Soyam Bapu Rao is an Adivasi. I don’t think that Rajagopal’s prediction will score again in this constituency. Daratla Soumya, Vidya volunteer, Adilabad

Yes, I hope this time also Lagadapati Rajagopal scores again with his predictions.  Because his survey in the past came close to actual results.  He is confident of accuracy of his surveys. – S K Pasha,  Kothagudem

I think that Lagadapati Rajagopal will score again with his predictions on outcome of Telangana elections. It is not the first time for Lagadapati to forecast the election results. The forecast of the results by him two times in the past came true. He announced that he would reveal the names of the winning candidates soon – Kondra Naresh, self-employed, Huzurabad, Karimnagar

No, I do not agree with any survey regarding election results.   Lagadapati Rajagopal and other media organisations conducted surveys. But  I do not think that they are correct. Poll surveys in Tamil Nadu had failed to predict the outcome of the Assembly election. –  S Raju,  Kothagudem

Both the TRS and the People’s Front are moving heaven and earth to grab power. No party is able to feel the pulse of the electorate. Lagadapati Rajagopal’s prediction may or may not come true. My assessment is that neither the TRS nor the Congress will get absolute majority to form the government. – T Nagaiah, unemployed youth, Darvesh Puram, Nalgonda

Lagadapati Rajagopal’s earlier predications were close to 80 per cent accurate.  Based on his prediction on  winning of 8 to 10 seats,  I personally feel at least five independents (rebels)  will  prove their mettle. – Gayasuddin, businessman, Nalgonda
