Politicising surgical strike
This refers to "Surgical strike best weapon to tackle terror: PM Modi (THI, Feb 4). While one can understand the kind Modi's "josh" the way he continues to use army's action in public forum. However using surgical strike as political weapon against previous government and opposition Congress is no good for the country as our unfriendly neighbours would feel elated when they hear such utterances against people from our own country.
Time and again it has been clarified that by former army commanders that even in the past "surgical strike" has been done inside enemy countries but never disclosed like the way it is being done now which ultimately made some one to make money by using actual action where not only shown army-men's heroism but civilians/politicians have also been shown in the same level.
When I got to read news about the film Uri:The Surgical Strike and one liner dialogue which got used by PM and with others around him repeating the same, I also got the urge to see the film which is no doubt well picturised, but yet again the markers have sullied the image of our own DRDO in the name encouraging a young trainee aerospace engineer shown making an indigenous Drone under the name of "Garuda".
Is DRDO which was headed by many great stalwarts including former President Dr Abdul Kalam and many others is shown in poor light. How come DRDO has not raised objection against damaging the image of our defence organisation and its head. This is what would happen if people like Modi and others make use surgical strike in political arena.
