TDP Parliamentary says YSRCP dharna useless

New Delhi: TDP Parliamentary Party here on Thursday denounced the dharna of YSRCP in Delhi in protest against the Centre and the state government terming it as a useless exercise.

Addressing the media here today, TDP MP, Y S Chowdary said the YSRCP MPs ran away from Parliament instead of boldly taking on the Centre and the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on the issue of Special Category Status (SCS) and were trying to cheat people by holding false protests at Delhi.

“Neither the YSRCP nor the BJP have any right to talk about AP or Telugu people as both of them together were scheming to stifle their life out. A 'B' team of the BJP and Modi, YSRCP should stop the drama and apologise to the people for its plot against AP development,” he demanded.

Chowdary also questioned Modi’s intent in touring AP and said he had no right to step on to the soil of AP which he betrayed by denying SCS. Asking Modi not to visit AP as “Modi has no face to show us and no morality to tour our state”, the Rajya Sabha member said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was waging a lone battle for the development of the state.

He said Naidu’s struggle for Polavaram irrigation project’s completion was well known in the absence of funds and cooperation from the Centre and the Modi government was unnecessarily demanding UCs for the projects only to delay the execution further.

He said as Naidu had been demanding, the Election Commission should switch over to the ballot paper as had been done by the entire world. India was the only country which was still continuing the EVMs only to cheat democracy and the voters, he added. He said even though crude oil prices had come down worldwide, the Modi government was continuing to impose exorbitant taxes on the people.
