Invictus, WipeouT have gamers in a thrall
Hyderabad: The rising popularity of eSports (a demonstration event in the ensuing Asian Games) was evidenced here following the enthusiastic response to the Hyderabad finale of Cobx Masters 2018: Phase I organised at Playmax Interactive in Begumpet.
The overwhelming enjoyment was not just of the competitors but also the viewers, who actively took part in the event.
After battling through the online stage and winning the semifinals, WipeouT and LUL clashed in the finals of DOTA 2 wherein WipeouT emerged triumphant.
Meanwhile, team Invictus-HYD took down Kafan in the finals of CS: GO.
The two winning teams took home a cheque for Rs 30,000 each while the runners-up were rewarded with Rs 20,000 for their efforts.
The champion outfits will next compete in Phase II of the nationwide tournament.
