Legislature Committee on Backward Classes Welfare visits PJTSAU
Hyderabad : The Telangana Legislature Committee on Backward Classes visited the Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) here on Wednesday.
The committee, led by its chairman V. Gangadhar, MLC and the committee members T. Prakash Goud (Rajendranagar MLA), R. Krishnaiah (LB Nagar MLA) and C. Vittal Reddy (Mudhole MLA) interacted with Vice Chancellor Dr. V. Praveen Rao and other officers of PJTSAU in a meeting organised at Robing Hall in University Auditorium.
The committee reviewed the implementation of B.C reservations in Teaching and Non Teaching staff recruitment and as well as admissions of Graduate, Undergraduate and Agricultural Diploma courses offered by the university. It felt happy and satisfied the way university administration was giving priority for BC's in recruitment and admissions.
As per the information made available to committee, 36.5% in teaching posts and 43.4% in Non Teaching posts are filled with BCs. Similarly, there are 44.35% students in Undergraduate Courses and 62% in Agricultural Diploma courses belong to Backward Classes. The committee has made several suggestions to the VC including to start the separate cell for BC's to look after the welfare of the BC employees and students in the university.
PJTSAU Registrar Dr. S Suddheer Kumar and senior officials of university and Assembly's Secretariat were present on the occasion.
