CS flags off 150 auto trolley tippers

Hyderabad : Telangana Chief Secretary Shailendra Kumar Joshi flagged off 150 auto trolley tippers at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road here on Thursday. 

GHMC Mayor Dr. B. Rammohan, Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, MA&UD Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary (Finance) K. Ramakrishna Rao, CDMA Commissioner Dr. T.K. Sridevi, GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Corporator Vijaya Reddy and other senior officials were also present on the occasion. 

While addressing the gathering, the Mayor said that the GHMC was striving hard to make the city to that of a world class. In this connection, he said already 2,000 Swachh auto tippers were deployed for collection of garbage. He said the Solid Waste collection in the city has increased from 3500 metric tons to 4900 metric tons per day. 

The Telangana Government has decided to fill up the gaps in door to door household garbage collection and in addition to 2,000 auto trolleys another 500 have been decided for procurement. Of them 150 auto trolleys have been given to the eligible candidates to take up the garbage waste from households to improve the collection of garbage in the twin cities and remaining 350 autos will be distributed among the beneficiaries very soon, informed the Mayor. 

These vehicle is being designed with separate partitions of wet and dry and also having provided with GPS system so that where the vehicle is being transporting the garbage etc., can be known with the help of this system and in built public address system has also been provided to create awareness about the segregation of households with proper signage’s etc., 

The Mayor said that 150 beneficiaries were selected through circle level committee and the Swachh auto tippers are being allotted to them under the ongoing Swachh Survekshan 2018. In addition to the last model improvement include – GPS, Public Addressed System inbuilt proper signage for better usage of the vehicle, he said. 

Vijaya Reddy, Area Corporator has proposed vote of thanks, later on all the concerned AMOHs in the presence of the Deputy Commissioners and Zonal Commissioners of their concerned circles have handed over the auto trolleys to the eligible beneficiaries.
