Assembly session to continue till March 27

Hyderabad : The budget session of Telangana State Legislative Assembly will continue till March 27 and the budget for the year 2018-19 will be presented on March 15.
 
The decision was taken by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) which met after the joint address of Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to the Telangana Legislature. The meeting, presided by Speaker S. Madhusudan Chary, was attended by Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari, Legislative Affairs Minister Harish Rao, ministers Tummala Nageshwara Rao and Etala Rajender, Congress leaders K. Jana Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka, MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, TDP MLA S. Venkata Veeraiah, BJP floor leader G. Kishan Reddy, CPM MLA Sunnam Rajaiah and others.
 
There will be discussion Motion of Thanks to the Address by the Governor on 13th and 14th March followed by reply. The budget will be presented on March 15 followed by three-day holidays. The session will be resumed on March 19 with general discussion on Budget 2018-19. The Assembly will also sit on a Sunday on March 25. The Appropriation Bills and Government Bills will be passed on March 27.
 
Meanwhile, the BAC reviewed the video footage of ruckus that occurred on first day of session in which Council Chairman Swamy Goud suffered an eye injury. The Legislative Affairs minister said action against guilty legislators would be recommended to the Speaker after a detailed review.
 
While Jana Reddy expressed concern over the incident, Akbaruddin Owaisi advised filing a police complaint. However, the Speaker said he would take a decision after having a complete review.
