Revanth flays KCR for expansion of Metro rail
Hyderabad: Congress leader and Kodangal MLA A Revanth Reddy has alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was trying to use Hyderabad Metro Rail for his own personal gains.
Addressing the media persons at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, Revanth condemned the State government's decision to expand metro rail from Raidurgam to Shamshabad airport and alleged that it would put an additional burden of Rs 4,000 on the State's exchequer. He said instead of taking the metro rail from Falaknuma to Shamshabad, the TRS government wanted to extend the route from Raidurgam to Shamshabad Airport.
The Congress leader stated that the Raidurgam-Shamshabad route would not benefit common people, except the KCR and family, who would gain out of it as they possess several properties en route. He said the Metro Rail expansion would increase the value of KCR family's properties from hundreds of crores to thousands of crores.
He said Falaknuma-Shamshabad airport route was just 15 km while Raidurgam-Shamshabad would be around 31 km. Therefore, the first route will cause less burden on State exchequer, while the second route will only benefit the KCR family, he alleged.
