Hyderabad: The High Court at Hyderabad has directed the Telangana police to submit details by Monday regarding their alleged taking into custody of CPI(ML) New Democracy regional secretary A Narayana Swamy alias Madhu.

The Division Bench comprising of Justice C V Nagarjuna Reddy and Justice G Shyam Prasad gave this direction on Wednesday while hearing an urgently-moved habeas corpus petition by Madhu’s wife, Padma, seeking production of her husband before the court.

V Raghunath, the counsel for the petitioner, informed the Bench that an ailing Madhu was travelling in an auto from Kothapet fruit market to Habsiguda when policemen in plain clothes swooped on him and forcibly took him away to an undisclosed location.

The police refused to tell why they had arrested and where they had housed Madhu. He sought a direction to the police to produce Madhu before the court immediately. The Bench directed the police to give details regarding this affair and adjourned the case to Monday.
